Client: The strategic services practice is part of the ASP Solutions SBU.  Strategic Services provides eBusiness strategy, HIPAA Compliance, Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing, CRM and Enterprise Architecture services.  Our clients implementation-consulting units and Strategic Services’ collectively provide consulting services to our customers through eight U.S. offices and their Technology Development Center in India .  Their 250 consultants, with Big 5 consulting and managed care information technology management backgrounds, have an average of over ten years experience.

The consulting practices offer an array of strategy, enablement and management services (primarily to payers). Whether customers need assistance developing an e-business strategy, conducting a HIPAA readiness assessment, implementing core applications, or developing/redesigning a Web site or Web portal, their Consulting offers complete solutions for healthcare organizations 

Project: The Vice President-Enterprise Architecture, reporting to the Sr. Vice President – Strategic Services, is a key leadership position within the Strategic Services management team and will be based in Greenwood Village , Colorado .   He/she will be expected to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the organizations full range of technology solutions, consulting services and implementation methodologies and tools.  The Vice President-Enterprise Architecture will also be expected to develop highly effective relationships with customers and prospects, organizational executives in all SBUs and other key staff across the organization.

Candidate Requirements: The successful candidate will have excellent healthcare knowledge with a heavy focus on managed care. They will possess expert knowledge in infrastructure technologies including connectivity (LAN, WAN, Internet), enterprise architecture, systems engineering/deployment and security.  They will demonstrate success working with connectivity/infrastructure vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Nortel, ISS, etc.

They will also have the proven ability to sell and effectively deliver $2.5M+ per year in consulting services to senior executives in the payer environment. This individual will have 10+ Years technology implementation and consulting experience as well as be an effective team builder with the ability to manage consulting staff. They will also contribute to services and methodology development. Effective communication, presentation and contract negotiation skills as well as previous experience in consulting were necessary.

Strategy: We began targeting Senior Managers and Directors in National Healthcare Consulting Firms with domain expertise in managed care organizations.  In addition we identified and recruited these same individuals in National Managed Care Vendors’ Professional Services Divisions.  In our research we networked with Senior leaders in regional and national managed care  companies. 

PostScript:  The final candidate for this position was presented within ninety days of the initiation of the search.  The candidate was previously the Director of Professional Services for a global networking services firm.  His clients included insurance companies, service providers, communications companies and financial service organizations. Since joining the National Healthcare Vendor and Consulting Firm he has begun building his team as well as working with existing clients in developing the specifications in becoming an ASP.
